The use of the Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. ("COSIA") website (the "website") is subject to the following terms and conditions and applicable federal and state laws. When a user accesses the website, that user agrees to these terms and conditions. COSIA may, from time to time, revise or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

When a visitor accesses the website, that user agrees not to use any portion of the website, including any images or text contained on the website, except with written permission of COSIA. Jurisdiction
The website’s terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New York State. Each party agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York.

Username and Password
You may receive a password and account designation upon completing the membership process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You agree to (a) immediately notify COSIA of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session. COSIA cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your username and/or password. Any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity may be grounds for termination of your account, at COSIA's sole discretion, and COSIA may refer you to appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Email Alert Sign-up
If you have provided us your email address, COSIA periodically sends promotional emails to its subscribers about COSIA events and other programming. If you no longer wish to receive email information from COSIA, please let us know by e-mailing us at: info (at) cosia (dot) net or by writing us at COSIA, PO Box 81, WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY 11552.

Termination
COSIA may, in its sole discretion, terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the website for any reason, including, without limitation, breach or assignment of this Agreement.

Donations and Payments
All donations and payments made to Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA) are nonrefundable. Checks returned for nonpayment will be subject to a $35 processing fee. By submitting your nonrefundable payment, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. d.b.a. COSIA, its officers, employees and agents for any and all injury, loss, cost, or expense arising out of your participation in COSIA events activities or travel to and from such activities, or otherwise resulting from your use of event facilities. COSIA assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of any personal property brought onto the premises by any COSIA event guests, volunteers, and/or participants . By submitting your payment, you also acknowledge that you have received, read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions posted on this website, COSIA membership guidelines, and the notice of photography, audio, and video recording. Registrants receive confirmation of payments via email, and capacity controls are in effect for all events and registrations. Reservations are confirmed on a first-come first-served basis. All donations to Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA) are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by the law. Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA) is compliant with the IRS and is registered with the New York State Attorney General. A copy of our financial statement may be obtained by writing to the NYS Department of Law, Office of the Attorney General, Charities Bureau, 120 Broadway, NY, NY 10271. Indemnification Policy
By attending an event posted on this website, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. d.b.a. COSIA, its officers, employees and agents for any and all injury, loss, cost, expense, or third-party claims arising out of your attendance at said event and/or any other posted activities or travel to and from such activities, or otherwise resulting from your use of event facilities. COSIA assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of any personal property brought onto the premises by any COSIA event guests and/or participants.

By attending any COSIA event, you hereby: (1) give consent for CULTIVATING OUR SISTERHOOD INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION, INC. (COSIA) to use your photograph or image in its print, online and video publications; (2) release CULTIVATING OUR SISTERHOOD INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION, INC. (COSIA), its employees and any outside third parties from all liabilities or claims that you might assert in connection with the above-described uses; and (3) waive any right to inspect, approve or receive compensation for any materials or communications, including photographs, videotapes, website images or written materials, incorporating photos/images of you.

Privacy Policy
Visitors may use the website without disclosing any personally identifying information. However, the information that users of the web site provide COSIA, including their name, address, email address, and credit card information, is transmitted via SSL encryption for the user’s protection. COSIA does not sell its member list, but does use its member list, with the approval of the board of directors, for various purposes. To be removed from the member list, please notify Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. in writing at PO Box 81, WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY 11552.

Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability
1. All references to the “Release” refer to this Release and Waiver of Liability.
2. All references to the “Volunteer” cover all volunteers of Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA).
3. All references to the “Nonprofit” refer to Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. d.b.a. COSIA (the “Nonprofit”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of New York, and each of its directors, officers, employees, and agents.

By volunteering with Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc., the Volunteer expresses his/her understanding and intent to enter into the following Release and Waiver of Liability willingly and voluntarily.

The Volunteer understands that the scope of Volunteer’s relationship with the Nonprofit is limited to a volunteer position and that no compensation is expected in return for services provided by Volunteer; that the Nonprofit will not provide any benefits traditionally associated with employment to Volunteer; and that Volunteer is responsible for his/her own insurance coverage in the event of personal injury or illness as a result of Volunteer’s services to Nonprofit.

1. Waiver and Release: Volunteer, Releases and forever discharges and holds harmless the Nonprofit and its successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from the services provided to the Nonprofit. Volunteer understands and acknowledges that this Release discharges the Nonprofit from any liability or claim that he/she may have against the Nonprofit with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the services provided to Nonprofit or occurring while providing volunteer services.

2. Insurance: Further, Volunteer understands that the Nonprofit does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide Volunteer with financial or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability benefits or insurance of any nature in the event of injury, illness, death or damage to Volunteer property. Volunteer expressly waives any such claim for compensation or liability on the part of the Nonprofit in the event of such injury or medical expenses are incurred.

3. Medical Treatment: Volunteer hereby Releases and forever discharge the Nonprofit from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first-aid treatment or other medical services rendered in connection with an emergency during Volunteer’s tenure as a volunteer with the Nonprofit.

4. Assumption of Risk: Volunteer understands that the services provided to the Nonprofit may include activities that may be hazardous to Volunteer. Volunteer hereby expressly assumes the risk of injury or harm from these activities and Releases the Nonprofit from all liability for injury, illness, death or property damage resulting from the services provided as a volunteer or occurring while providing volunteer services.

5. Photographic and Copyright Release: Volunteer grants and conveys to Nonprofit all right, title, and interests in any and all photographs, images, video or audio recording of Volunteer or likeness or voice made by Nonprofit in connection with the providing of services to Nonprofit. Volunteer further grants and conveys to Nonprofit all right, title, and interests in any and all works, including but not limited to publications, photographs, images, video, or audio recording taken and/or produced by Volunteer in connection with the providing of services to Nonprofit.

6. Other: Volunteer expressly agrees that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of New York and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. I agree that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release is deemed invalid, the enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Release shall not be affected.

Chance, Sweepstakes, and Prize Opportunities
You must be a legal resident of the United States and age 18 or older to enter. Only one entry per person. Multiple submissions will be disqualified and discarded. Board members of COSIA and their relatives are not eligible. COSIA is not responsible for lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or ineligible submissions. Any applicable taxes or gratuities related to these prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners will be announced on the COSIA listserv and website, and will be notified via e-mail. Prizes will not be awarded when no eligible winner is selected. COSIA is also not responsible for lost, delayed, and/or misdirected prizes sent from our offices to the prize recipient. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA), its affiliates, directors, officers, and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with these offers or use of any prize won. Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association, Inc. (COSIA) reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize is unavailable for any reason. All COSIA winners of prizes valued at over $100.00 must wait 90 days before being eligible to win another COSIA contest. Additionally, all COSIA winners may win only once per contest cycle.
